Congratulations to our sponsored swimmers

Amanda Baines and Rachel Ripley, took on a swimming challenge today, at David Lloyds, Teesside, in order to raise funds for a forthcoming warm weather training camp in Cyprus, for their youth swimmers at BOSSS, (Borough of Stockton Swim Scheme, an elite swimming scheme in the Stockton area). The distance was 2,500 metres, 100 lengths, completed in the fastest time possible, and the pair have been training hard over the last few months.  Head Coach Chris Leighton was there to oversee the challenge and ensure all lengths were counted and completed to an appropriate standard. Mr Leighton commented, “It is great that these two non-swimming, swim mums have taken on this challenge to help our young swimmers to get to our swim camp this Easter. The Camp will be a great opportunity for our swimmers to train in a specialist venue, in preparation for the forthcoming Nationals. All our swimmers work hard, long hours in the pool to reach their potential, training before and after school, and their commitment and dedication is second to none. I think both Amanda and Rachel have worked hard on this challenge, and in the process have had a renewed respect for the work our youngsters do. We wish all our youth swimmers good luck for the forthcoming National competitions.”
